Engineer
In this role you will perform engineering design review and analysis assignments on projects of varying size and complexity, offering you the opportunity to apply your existing skills and knowledge and develop a thorough understanding of policies, methods and procedures.
What You Will Do
- Detailed review of engineering plans to ensure compliance with applicable Rules, Regulations and contract commitments, with supervision from an experienced engineer or engineering manager as needed.
- Performing conventional engineering practices and moderately complex problems such as resolving conflicting design requirements.
- Drafting technically accurate and timely reports, and responses to client communications, for review by an experienced engineer or engineering manager.
- Preparing accurate and timely weekly reports and billing on all work performed.
- Communicating current workload status to appropriate team members and stakeholders to ensure that client requirements will be achieved.
- Proposing technical advice to field operations and other technical offices.
- Applying a solution mindset to devise new approaches to problems and make recommendations for changes in methods, procedures or designs.
- Working directly with clients to identify and resolve problems in the area of technical expertise.
- Working as a team member, with the ability to work autonomously, once trained, with minimal supervision
- Implements and maintains ABS Quality System requirements relative to responsibilities after undergoing ABS Quality System training.
- Bachelor's degree in Marine, Mechanical, Electrical or Naval Architecture or other related disciplines.
- Prior experience in a similar technical role and industry.
- Solution mindset, with the ability to identify and analyze problems and propose effective solutions.
- Proficiency in English and German languages.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, able to work well with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to live and work in Germany without restriction and be able to travel to global locations as needed.
