- We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Quality Assurance Coordinator.
- This role is based in our Manufacturing Plant in London Ontario and reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Job Summary
Plans, coordinates and performs quality assurance activities designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established company standards, as well as enable company growth in the areas of sales and profit. This role will collaborate with the QA lab team, production team, tool room team, maintenance, set up team, processing team as well as the certification agencies, technical services group, and other corporate groups.
Principal Responsibilities
- Liason with certification agencies, collect samples, work with inspectors, file records, prepare test samples, measure samples, perform witness testing, track agency sample submissions, chart submissions and details of agency requirements, and follow up with failure notices.
- Perform yearly regression, joint tightness, and other testing, documenting, and recording results as required.
- Verification of calibration - lab Equipments, maintain records, and coordinate with external calibration service providers
- Create/update inspection reports, packaging instructions and other related documentation such as part approvals.
- Lead tooling investigations for sizing issues, cycle time issues, flash or other tool related problems communicating closely with tool room personnel.
- Internal audit team member and auditor.
- Project coordination, specialty testing, development trials.
- Part / process studies, capability studies, GR&R studies, data entry, measuring and testing.
- New lab equipment, testing fixtures, repair / replacement projects.
- Assist with investigation of customer complaints, by measuring, testing and detailing results as necessary.
- Comprehensive gauge use instructions, and test instruction creation and updates to existing.
- Maintains plant Health and Safety, see attachment for responsibilities.
- Promote an atmosphere of continuous improvement within the QC lab as well as on the plant floor.
- Maintain a clean and organized QC lab, offices, and testing facilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum community college diploma or certificate (University preferred)
- Quality Assurance Certificate from a recognized institution would be an asset
- Knowledge of Process Capability and Statistical Process Control concepts
- Knowledge and understanding of quality assurance process and measuring skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO standards and procedures.
- Knowledge of and experience with problem solving techniques
- Proficiency of MS Office, including Excel
- Mechanical aptitude, and the ability to trouble shoot testing fixtures and test set ups
