JOB DESCRIPTION :

Offshore Electrical Designer:

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood India is currently recruiting for Offshore Electrical Designers with offshore and brownfield experience to be based at our office in Chennai.


Responsibilities include,

Production and checking of common electrical design deliverables including:

• Single Line Diagrams
• Block Cable Diagrams
• Schematic/Connection Diagrams
• General Electrical Equipment Layouts including Sub-Station Layouts
• Lighting Layouts
• Earthing Layouts
• Hazardous Area Layouts
• Cable & Drum Schedules

Experienced in the activities, procedures, and methods associated with electrical systems design development including:

• Cable Scheduling and Routing Design (above and below ground)
• Lighting Design (including lighting design software application)
• Earthing Systems
• Hazardous Area Classification
• Electrical Bulk Material Take-off and Requisitioning

Competent practitioner in the application of Industry standard CAD systems (AutoCAD) for the production of 2-D electrical drawings

Basic awareness of international design standards e.g. IEC/CENELEC /ATEX (European) and ANSI/NEC (American).

Experienced in electrical design applications in a 3-D model environment via industry standard 3-D CAD modelling systems (PDMS)

Skills / Qualifications
Qualification :

• Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Experience:

• 8 - 12 years of experience in Electrical Engineering Design Environment
• Ability to check engineering design deliverables in a multi-discipline task force-based engineering design environment
• Experience in FEED or EPC engineering design in Project execution
• Offshore & Brownfield experience in mandatory
• Any 2D/3D tool experience is required

Principal Architect :

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood has an opportunity for a Principal Architect to be based in Reading on a contract basis. We work on a variety of projects including carbon capture, hydrogen power, waste to energy, biofuels, recycling, petrochemical, and oil & gas.

• The architect must have good working knowledge of Mircostation and ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Wood policies and procedures
• Ensure all work to be carried out with a positive attitude towards safety, both in design and in the office environment
• Contribute to the group as a discipline technical Specialist as required
• Provide technical and architectural design support to Projects as Lead Architect where required
• Execute assigned work in accordance with Project Execution Plans, applicable Project Procedures and Standards within man - hour and cost budgets and Project schedule target
• Provide design and technical interface to project work with clients, other Departments, suppliers / vendors and consultants
• Coordinate and conduct Technical Audits and Technical reviews on projects as required by Chief Architect
• Review, support and agree project technical and design issues with the Lead Discipline Engineer, including dissemination and implementation of discipline ‘best practice’ on projects

Skills / Qualifications

• Degree qualified architect with membership of a recognized international architectural professional authority
• Experience in oil and gas / energy transition projects
• Experience of client management and briefing activities
• Good conceptual design abilities
• Sound technical and international building construction knowledge
• Good project management skills within the Architectural discipline
• Understanding and experience in the adoption of ‘Green Buildings’ principals

Piping & Mechanical Designer :

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Piping & Mechanical Designer with experience in the chemical manufacturing industry. You will be responsible for design work supporting small facility-based projects in an active chemical manufacturing plant as part of that plant’s capital project’s group.

Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship required.

Responsibilities:

• Meet or exceed the company’s safety standards
• Comply with all company procedures, engineering practices and other standards
• Read and fully understand P&ID’s and other documents which describe the scope of work to be done
• Provide piping & mechanical design support to capital and service projects in a fast-paced environment
• Application of company and industry standards to generate piping & mechanical construction packages
• Work closely with plant engineers, contractors, and team members to achieve project success
• Field as-built, measurement, and design as project requires
• Assist with material take-offs and construction estimating

Skills / Qualifications

• 10+ years industrial experience working in the design field, preferably in that of the chemical manufacturing industry
• Experience in design of piping & mechanical systems as currently used in chemical manufacturing facilities
• Outdoor design experience, able to wear required PPE and drive safely to jobsite for field measurement/as-built drawings
• Proficiency in MicroStation
• Proficiency in Microsoft, Word, Excel and Outlook
