JOB DESCRIPTION :

• Facilitates development of Product Option Architecture (POA) for New Product Development (NPD) programs as part of Global Products Engineering (GPE) team.
• Creates and releases configurable bill of materials (BOM) and sustain changes through Engineering Change Management (ECM) process
• Authors Change Orders (CO) and implement changes for (High Volume Manufacturing) HVM BOMs (or production release BoM) by defining cut-in strategies and disposition for the changes
• Interprets Visio options and POA milestone calendar to align changes for the desired POA cycle
• Conducts BOM reviews for simple to complex CO’s to validate changes for correctness
• Hosts review meetings with New Product Introduction (NPI) program management, configuration engineering and other functional teams for the configurable BOM changes and follow up until approvals
• Participates in Design Review meetings and provide inputs on BOM structuring/item text logic for new option release
• Provides immediate response and timely resolution to POA or configuration related issues

Mandatory Skills

• Comprehensive understanding of product structure, bill of materials and configuration management
• Ability to read and retrieve multi-level BOMs, where used reports and affected products for a given part/assembly
• Hands on experience in iPLM tool (product life cycle management applications, change action/change order management, problem reports, non-standard requests)
• Very good understanding of Form/Fit/Function change and Interchangeability concept
• Ability to work with dynamic cross functional teams globally and deliver results
• A self-starter with ability to adapt, improvise and problem-solving skills
